Burcin & Arif // Casamento em Alfama

Quando perguntámos à Burcin e ao Arif o motivo pelo qual vieram da Turquia até Portugal para casar, a resposta foi: “Porque não? Pareceu-nos um bom motivo para conhecer o país!” Achámos esta resposta refrescante e descontraída e acabámos por descobrir que foi um reflexo perfeito das personalidades destes noivos. O casamento teve lugar na embaixada turca em Lisboa, onde apenas compareceram os familiares e amigos mais chegados. Depois da cerimónia e de cumpridas algumas tradições turcas houve ainda espaço para a distribuição de pastéis de nata, um sucesso entre todos os presentes, inclusive nós, obviamente! Partimos então para as ruas de Alfama, onde servimos não só de fotógrafos mas também de cicerones ao casal de recém-casados mais brincalhão e bem disposto e ao seu casal de amigos extremamente tímido, um contraste absolutamente fantástico! Mas o mais memorável deste tarde foi a simpatia dos alfacinhas que, a cada passo que dávamos, faziam questão de cumprimentar os noivos e desejar-lhes as maiores felicidades!

When we asked Burcin and Arif the reason why they came all the way from Turkey to Portugal to get married, the answer was: “Why not? It seemed like a good reason to visit the country!” We found this answer very refreshing and relaxed and we eventually discover that it was a perfect reflection of these bride and groom personalities. The wedding took place in the Turkish Embassy in Lisbon, where only few family members and close friends attended. After the ceremony and some Turkish traditions were met there was still room for a small distribution of traditional Portuguese pastéis de nata, a hit between all those present, including us, of course! Then, we walked through the streets of Alfama, where we serve not only as photographers but also as cicerones to this amazingly playful and cheerful couple and its two extremely shy friends, an absolutely fantastic contrast! But the most memorable thing about this afternoon was the locals friendliness that, at every step we took, insisted on greeting the bride and groom and wish them all the best!
