Best of wedding photography 2017: Every year since we?ve been shooting weddings has been fantastic and we are so lucky to be able to say that 2017 was not the exception. Without a doubt, this past year was one of the best ever. Among so many good things that have happened we got to start the year by traveling to an amazing African island, a literal paradise in the equador line, São Tomé and Prince. There we were back again at our origins in street photography and that really inspired us for the rest of the year. Another great experience was the Bodaf conference in Barcelona, where the best thing was the exchange between fellow photographers, to hang with old friends and make new ones. These types of events are, if nothing else, a big reunion where we get to share knowledge, doubts, fears and fun stories with really amazing and talented people. So this goes to everyone who was there with us: we loved spending that time with you and we would love to do it again!
And then the wedding season started and we got to shoot two weddings abroad, one in Stockholm and the other in Paris. Travel to other countries to shoot weddings is not one of our main priorities but to know that two couples loved our work that much is an absolute honor (you know who you are and you know we loved meeting you and to have played such a special part on such an important day!). But Portugal is absolutely beautiful and there?s no wonder why so many couples choose this corner of Europe to get married. We went to new venues and revisited some of our favorites. All in all, we can?t complain, we had everything we asked for for a great year in wedding photography. And then, in November, the 2017?s list of 30 Rising Stars by Rangefinder magazine was announced and we just froze, too good to be true! This is by far one of the greatest recognitions we could ever aim for and we were so completely surprised to be included in that amazing list. It was the perfect way to end the season. And the perfect way to start the new year was seeing one of our favorite pictures in Junebug?s best of the best wedding pictures of 2017. We are speechless with everything that has happened and with the joy that our job continues to give us.

All this to say that this was a learning year, we continued to evolve as photographers and we consolidated our approach in wedding photography. More than ever, we know what we want to do and we are passionately motivated to get there. And all of this is only possible because of all the couples that trusted in us to register one of the most important days of their lives. That is the most important thing in all of this, to capture real life and perpetuate memories that otherwise could be forgotten. We are SINCERELY thankful to everyone. THANK YOU!

Obviously we cannot end this small reflection without mentioning our family and friends that are such an influence to us and really understanding about how this work can be demanding. Thank you to you too. We love you ?
